Flooring Options

Boxspan® floors can carry any type of flooring

Particle Board Sheet flooring
Fixed using standard construction adhesive and nailed or screwed down.

Nails: Nom 2.3mm x 40mm hardened twist nails. i.e. Senco GF21AZA

Screws: Self tapping, Wing Tek screws
i.e. 10-16x45wt

Tongue & Groove Flooring over Particle board
Fixing of particleboard is as above. Floor boards can then be nailed and glued to the particle board. This method is now often used even when fixing to timber joists because of the following benefits:

•	Fewer joists as do not need to put double joists under each parallel wall.
•	Construction is easier as floor is in place over joists
•	Less T&G used, as boards can be end matched (they do not have to start and finish on a joist).
•	Considerably better sound and heat insulation
•	T&G much less affected by changes in moisture under the house, which can cause serious damage to T&G floors.

Concrete (Smartslab)
70mm concrete topping slab onto floor deck sheeting fixed to Boxspan joists. This floor system is fully designed by Smartslab (Spantec distributor). See Smartslab webpage for more details.

CSR Hebel Sound Floor
75mm thick x 600mm x 1800 panels. Each panel is glued with construction adhesive and screwed into joist with 95mm long tek screws.For full details of fixing and product details, contact CSR Hebel.

Compressed Fibre Cement Sheeting
Typically used for wet areas or external decks and balconies.
Fixing as per manufacturers specifications.
